First sock completed !!!!

I just finished my first sock for the sock-a-month Kal at this site http://knittinmom.blogspot.com. This was my first pair of socks with a lacy pattern. Wait - it's my first knitted anything with a lace pattern !! And I love it. I have all kinds of ideas for lace shawls with recycled silk, sweaters with lacey patterns..... The possibilities are endless, and my time is way too limited.
These socks were knitted on opal yarn with size US 1 needles. The pattern I used is from http://woolandwood.freewebspace.com/yukonleaves. I only cast on 60 stitches, and it is plenty big enough for my legs. I was worried about having enough yarn for the 2 socks, so I didn't make the leg very long. I wish I had made it longer as I now have enough leftover to make a third sock. Hey, that may not be such a bad idea...No I have too many other ideas for socks that are waiting to be knit.

This is my sock stash

Sorry the colors didn't come out that great in the pic. With practice I hould get better at taking the pics. The yarn at the back left is Cascade Sierra Quatro, color no.90. It is a pretty shade of purple and lavender. The yarn in the middle of back row is Opal sock yarn with blue, beige, light brown and lavender. The yarn on th back right is Sockotta with pink, lavender and purple. Notice the trend? I think I need to find some new colors! Maybe I'll find some red yarn for Valentine's day!
